Calling all Speakers

The Digital Oilfields Brazil 2023 conference is seeking presentations that broadly focus on the following key topics:

  • Making the business case for automation and digitalising the oilfield
  • Integrating new oilfield technologies into existing operations and processes
  • Looking at real-time data, cutting-edge communications, and blockchain networks
  • Low-cost strategies which optimise production in oilfield operations
  • New technologies and technical know-how in IoT integration and wellsite automation
  • Case studies in machine learning, cybersecurity, and making a successful transition

As advancements in the digital oilfield begin to play a crucial role in meeting efficiency and cost reduction targets, today’s oil and gas operators must address the challenges associated with operating digital oilfields across the entire value chain. Cybersecurity, a lack of standardisation, legacy installed bases, and the liability of current technologies are at the forefront as operators look for more efficient solutions.

The next generation of oilfield digitalisation includes achieving standardisation and centralisation of existing systems, integration and optimisation of wellsite technologies, including SCADA systems, effective measuring and monitoring of liquid and gas at the wellbore, and better communication networks from real-time data. Better automated and better-connected wells put the physical point of well management and operations in one place, significantly reducing the time needed to monitor and maintain multiple systems. Additionally, such integrated systems require fewer human resources and offer more opportunities as operators embrace the digital oilfield age.

By fully optimising the solutions available, an operator with $50 billion annual revenue could increase its profits by nearly $1 billion, according to a Cisco study. Over the next three to five years, 62% of executives say they will invest more than they currently do in digital innovations, and 89% believe they can leverage analytics to improve business practices as the number of devices used on well sites is set to increase by 70% over the next year.
